Video: Ananda Sangaree writes to UN Human Rights Commissioner
TULF leader Ananda Sangaree in a letter to UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay says that there is no necessity to hold an international investigation against Sri Lanka.
In his letter, Sangaree stated that a solution could be found through an internal investigation and if the American resolution is presented, it should be revised beforehand.
He pointed out that it is wrong to name the LTTE as a party in the effort to find a solution as the defunct organisation has already been declared illegal in the country.
Therefore Ananda Sangaree’s opinion is that holding an investigation on the LTTE is a meaningless action.
Former MP and TULF leader Ananda Sangaree further said that if the UN High Commissioner wants a committee to investigate Sri Lanka, it should be set up with the precedence of India.
Meanwhile four TNA MPs have already flown to Geneva to obtain the support for the U.S. backed Anti Sri Lankan resolution to be submitted to the Human Rights Commission session.
They are party General Secretary Mawei Senadhirajah, Selvam Addaikkalanadan, Suresh Premachandran and M.A. Sumandiran.
The Party sources stated that the four MPs will stay in Geneva during this week and meet the Human Rights Commission representatives of other countries in order to obtain their support towards the U.S. backed resolution against Sri Lanka.
