It has been unanimously decided to send to the UN Human Rights Commission a special letter with signatures of the Chief Incumbents of the three chapters and Chief Prelates of other Sectors.

The Chief Prelates arrived at this decision after a special discussion held at the Ran Aayuda Madapaya in the premises of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic yesterday.

On this occasion Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Thero said that an anti-Sri Lanka conspiracy was taking place because of the weakness of this country’s diplomatic service.

A special discussion for briefing the Maha Sangha about the resolutions submitted to the Human Rights Commission about Sri Lanka took place with the participation of Foreign Affairs Minister Professor G. L. Peiris at the premises of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic yesterday.

That was in response to the recent request of the Chief Incumbents of the Malwatta and Asgiriya Chapters submitted to the President.

Speaking further on the occasion Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter Most venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhita Thero stated as follows:

The Mahaa Sangha including the chief incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter and Chief incumbent of the Raamagna Chapter most venerable Naapaaney Premasiri Thero participated in the occasion.

Addressing the Mahaa Sangha on this occasion foreign affairs minister G. L. Peiris said that the aim of the US resolution submitted to the Human Rights Commission was to create a political change in the country.

Minister GL explains to Chief Prelates the Geneva challenges

A special awareness meeting about the Anti Sri Lankan resolution to be presented in Geneva Human Rights Commission session is being held with the participation of the Chief Prelates in the premises of the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy.

The meeting has been organised in response to the recent request made by the Chief Prelates from the President with regard to Geneva resolution.

Accordingly External Affairs Minister Professor G.L. Peries arrived in Kandy this afternoon to hold the meeting with the Chief Prelates.

Our correspondent said that the Maha Sangha led by Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkita Thera and the Chief Prelate of the Ramanya Nikaya Most Venerable Napane Premasiri Thera are participating in the meeting at this moment.

Addressing the Maha Sangha Professor G.L. Peries said that the motive of the American backed Geneva resolution is a regime change in the country.
