No separatism - says Northern Provincial Chief Minister
Chief Minister of the Northern Province C. V. Wigneshwaran has stated that no one accepts separatism.
Speaking during a press conference held yesterday he stated that a country needs leaders to not divide people, but to unite them.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has decided to hold a comprehensive inquiry into the fundamental rights petition filed against the Chief Minister of the Northern Province by the Northern Provincial Council Secretary.
She had filed the petition stating that the Chief Minister is interfering in her official duties and that he is attempting to remove her from her post.
The hearing regarding the petition will be held on the 14th of July.
The Supreme Court has also issued a stay order regarding the set of instructions issued by the Chief Minister to all officials in the Northern Provincial Council, including the secretary regarding to how to conduct administrative duties in the province.
