UPDATE: Video: Decline in pre-election violations; PAFFERAL
The PAFFREL Organization stated that there is a decline in pre-election violation this time when compared to the previous election.
Its Executive Director Rohana Hetti Aarachchi announced this during a media briefing held in Colombo today.
At the same time, Hetti Aarachchi requested heads of Higher Education Institutes to close tuitions on the vote taking day Saturday.
Meanwhile Labour and Labour Relations Ministry requests the private sector companies to grant continuous four-hour paid leave for eligible private sector employees to enable them to cast their vote in the Western and Southern Provincial Council election on Saturday.
Issuing a notice, the Ministry also requested the companies to consider the distance to each employee’s polling station when granting them special leave.
Meanwhile during a recent media briefing held in Colombo, Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya requested all eligible voters to cast their vote without failure.

The PAFFERAL Organization revealed about a strange means of propaganda carried out by candidates after the time given for holding election campaigns ended last midnight.
Speaking during a media briefing held in Colombo today, the organization’s Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi said that these election campaigns were held during the past few hours in the guise of religious and cultural ceremonies.
Meanwhile, complaints have been lodged against illegal election propaganda after last midnight, occurred within the Police elections Unit during the last few hours.
