President orders to temporarily halt official foreign tours for Provincial Councilors.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has temporarily halted all official foreign trips for Provincial Councillors.
North Western Provincial Council Secretary Jayantha Wijerathna told our news team that the Secretary to the President has written to all Chief Provincial Secretaries with regard to the President’s decision.
Accordingly, the China and Thailand tours in which 49 North Western PC members expected to join today have also been cancelled temporarily under the President order.
The proposed tour had been arranged under three stages nearly at a cost of 30 million rupees and each 49 PC members were expected to join one of the groups either in China or Thailand.
North Western Provincial Council Secretary Jayantha Wijerathna further described about the President order that halted PC members’ official trips overseas.
