President Mahinda Rajapaksa has informed the relevant officials to release all Indian fishermen who are in custody at present.
The Fisheries Department said that the Indian fishermen under custody will be released following the legal procedures within the next three days.
About 93 fishermen and 22 vessels are in Sri lankan.
The fishermen were apprehended for violating the maritime borders of the Northern Sea.
However, according to the Fisheries Department all Sri Lankan fishermen have been released by now.
The discussion between Indo- Lanka fisheries issue which was scheduled to be held on the 25th did not take place as Indian authorities did not take part.
