The election observers requested the candidates and their supporters to celebrate victory peacefully as preferential votes of the Western and Southern Provincial Council were released a while ago.

They also said that no serious post election violence incident has been reported so far from the poll areas.

PAFFREL Executive Director Rohana Hetti Aarachchi further described the events during the post election period.

At the same time, Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that police protection will be beefed up further during the post election period in order to protect law and order in the poll areas.
