Indian authorities have decided to hold the second round of Indo-Sri Lanka Fisheries discussions after the Indian Lok Sabhaa election.

According to the order of President Mahinda Rajapaksa action was taken to release all Indian fishermen held in Sri Lankan custody.

In view of this India has responded about recommencing fisheries discussions.

Deputy Fisheries Minister Sarath Kumara Gunaratne said that the expectation of both countries was somehow to build these discussions.

However the Deputy Minister also said that obstructions were caused to the relations between both countries as a result of the activities of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jayaraam.
