Singaporean Minister of External Affairs visits North
Singaporean Minister of External Affairs K. Shanmugam, who is currently engaging in a tour of Sri Lanka, met with Northern Provincial Chief Minister C. V. Wigneshwaran and Governor G. A. Chandrasiri today.
Our regional correspondent stated that the two meetings took place in the governor’s office and the office of the chief minister.
Discussions were centred on the aid given by the Singaporean government to strengthen the English knowledge of the populace of Jaffna.
A spokesperson of the Northern Province Chief Minister’s office stated that during the meeting with the Northern Provincial Chief Minister C. V.
Wigneshwaran, extensive discussions were had regarding English language development projects.
Singaporean Minister of External Affairs K. Shanmugam met with President Mahinda Rajapakse yesterday.
During the meeting with the president Singaporean Minister of External Affairs K. Shanmugam stated that the Sri Lankan public needed development and that the public is especially interested in the future of their children and that the time is right for that message to be given to the world.
