Alleged Mannar mass grave was an old grave yard: says Archaeological department.

Minister of National Heritage Jagath Balasuriya says that the archaeology excavations in Mannar have confirmed that the digging site where human fragments were found was not a mass grave.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo this morning, the Minister said the human bone fragments found in the digging site belongs to the era of 1930.

He also quoted research revealing the alleged mass grave as an old cemetery.
