A world should learn a lesson from Sri lanka: says Pakistani chief of staff
A top Pakistani defense official visiting Sri Lanka said ending the war is a "great achievement of the nation."
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan General Rashad Mahmood made this comments when he called on Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.
Speaking further about Pakistan's similar experiences, General Mahmood said, "No other country understands better the sacrifices your country has made.
Your success has a greater impact in the wider region. It's a very big story that the rest of the world can learn from."
The CJCSC commended President Rajapaksa on the post-war developments in the North.
During the meeting, General Mahmood conveyed best wishes and warm regards from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, to President Rajapaksa, as well as to Government and people of Sri Lanka.
