Chairman of the CEB W B Ganegala stated that around 20 Million Rupees has been obtained as fines for having illegally obtained electricity.

Due to the new act, raids cannot be conducted after 5PM till 8AM and hence there is an increase in instances of having illegally obtained electricity.
