If government doesn't listen to us, no option than to take to the streets; says Asgiri Maha Nayaka Thera : Video
Maha Nayaka of the Asgiri Chapter Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Thera says that if the government doesn’t pay attention to their requests they will have to take to the streets along with the Maha Sangha.
The Chief Prelates made these comments as they expressed views regarding the Bim Saviya Draft bill been prepared by the government.
The Maha Nayaka had expressed these views as Minister of Justice Rauf Hakeem called on him yesterday.
Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkhitha Thera stated that if the Bim Saviya Bill was approved it would cause many issues with regard to lands that come under Temples and Devala.
The Maha Nayake thera who expressed displeasure that the government has not taken steps to amend the bill stated that there would be no option than to endorse steps taken by the Maha Sangha against the proposals.
