No land belonging to Muslims have been taken over: Military denies allegations raised by Minister Rishard

Military Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya says that they completely deny the allegations levelled against the Navy by Minister Rishard Badiudeen regarding the situation which has arisen near the Wilpaththu National Forest.

Minister Rishard Badiudeen stated that 73 families were residing in Mirijji Kattiya village in Mannar before the war.

However, Military Spokesperson Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya stated that no land belonging to any Muslim had been taken over by the Navy.

The Naval Deployment in Mullikkulam and Marichchikaddu areas have resulted in the displacement of only one Muslim family and authorities had made arrangements to provide alternate land to this family in Marichchikaddu area.

The Military Spokesperson further said that no other Muslim family has ever approached the Sri Lanka Navy claiming displacement due to deployments in the area.
