Former Norwegian Peace Envoy to Sri Lanka Eric Solheim says that he is ready to launch a book written on the role of Norway as a peace mediator in Sri Lanka.
Solheim, a former minister of the Norwegian Government and current Chairman of the Development Assistant Committee of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organisation wrote on Twitter how the Norway Government approached the LTTE and how messages were dispatched to the terrorist organizaion
The Norwegian Government mediated in exchanging messages between the then governments and the LTTE, and Eric Solheim participated as the Norwegian peace envoy in two occasions during President Chandrika Kumaratunga’s government and the UNP government.
He said in message to Twitter that talks between governments and the LTTE will be included in his book.
