Government Doctors say they have become the common enemy
The GMOA says that it has become the common enemy against reducing the duration of the Allied Health Science degree program.
The GMOA held a media briefing today in Colombo regarding the statement made by Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake yesterday.
Allied Health Science degree students have started Sathyagraha campaigns in four different places against the reduction of the duration of the Allied Health Science degree from four to three years.
The Sathyagraha being held in Peradeniya completed 120 days today.
Other Sathyagraha campaigns are held in front of Colombo Fort Railway Station, at Galle Bus stand and in front of University Grants Commission.
Speaking to the media in Kandy yesterday, Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake said that Allied Health Science degree students should stage protests in front of the residencies of GMOA members.
However GMOA Central Committee member Dr. Nalinda Herath said that Higher Education in the country is turning into money spinner today.
Meanwhile addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today Inter University Students Federation Convener Najith Indika stated that students have been forced to take to the streets in order to get an extension of the course duration.
