Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau said that the sending of Sri Lankan employees to Libya had been suspended with immediate effect.

That was as a result of taking that country’s current situation into consideration.

While this step has been taken based on information obtained from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, it has been decided not to send employees to Libya until further notice.

The Foreign Employment Bureau said further that the Sri Lankans currently employed there would be brought back to the island since the situation in Libya is not conducive.
