Maldives assures continuous support to Sri Lanka : Video
The Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon, today pledged her country’s continuous support to Sri Lanka at international fora, during a meeting with President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees.
The discussion held this morning focused on a number of matters of mutual interest including education and further strengthening bilateral relations.
Her last visit was when she accompanied Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen during the State Visit to Sri Lanka in January of this year.
She will join former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, who is currently in Sri Lanka, for a reception President Rajapaksa is hosting as the Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth to celebrate cultural diversity of Commonwealth nations.
Meanwhile, The visiting Parliamentary delegation of Balochistan Provincial Assembly of Pakistan, headed by Speaker Muhammad Khan Jamali met President Mahinda Rajapakse today.
The visit aims at the further strengthening Pakistan - Sri Lanka bilateral parliamentary relations and exploring ways to enhance bilateral ties between the two friendly countries in regional and global context.
