30 Democratic Party candidates go to court requesting to re-count preferential votes in the Gampaha district.
A group of candidates who contested from Gampaha District representing Democratic Party is planning to lodge a petition at the Supreme Courts.
The petition will request for a recount of the votes obtained by all candidates of the same party.
Democratic Party Negombo seat co-organizer Dexter Fernando stated that about 30 candidates who lost the last elections have agreed to sign this petition.
During the last provincial elections, Democratic Party received 88,557 votes and won 4 seats in Gampaha District.
