The Colombo Declaration of the World Conference on Youth was issued this morning.
Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said at the It will chart the course of World Youth for the next 10 to 15 years.
Addressing a press conference at the BMICH, the minister said the media should take the lead in initiating an international debate regarding the World Conference on Youth to ascertain whether it was a success or failure.
The success of the conference could be ascertained on three major factors. 6
08 youth delegates representing 148 countries attended it.
This was the largest participation in the history of the Youth Conference launched in 1936.
The Colombo Declaration which is the official declaration of the conference will chart the course of world youth for the next 10 to 15 years.
During earlier conference delegates issued one declaration and policy makers issued another declaration.
In contrast both delegates and policy makers have jointly signed the Colombo declaration.
