President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the IGP to conduct special raids to arrest drug racketeers operating near schools.
Presidential media sources stated that the President has issued instructions to IGP N.K. Illangakoon this afternoon, following public complaints received regarding drug racketeers and ransom taking occurring in and out of schools.
The President had received complaints concerning organized measures to draw school children towards drugs, Babul, Moa-daka and drug-pills.
The President has further advised the IGP to impose law on all factions despite their position or ranking.
Meanwhile, President Mahinda Rajapaksa also participated at the National Nursing Day commemoration Ceremony held at the BMICH today.
