4 remanded Allied Health Sciences Degree students hospitalised- Video
Four Allied Health Science Students among the arrested 18 students were hospitalized as they had had injuries.
Colombo National Hospital spokesman said that the four students are receiving treatment at the Ward No.72 of the Colombo National hospital.
A group of Allied Health Science Students were arrested yesterday while they were protesting in front of the University Grants Commission.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that three students were arrested on warrant orders, two others were arrested for breaching court orders and 13 other students were arrested for interrupting police in their duty.
Later the students were remanded till Monday when they were produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
However on the orders of the Fort Magistrate, 13 out of them were inspected by Judicial Medical officer of the National Hospital today.
Later four of them were hospitalized under the supervision of prison officials.
Our news team also inquired Upuldeniya whether the four students were injured due to police assault and he declined to answer.
Meanwhile the Inter University Students Federation and the Frontline Socialist Party convened separate media conferences to explain the arrest of 18 students in Colombo today.
