Nine Allied Health Science Degree students arrested for breaching court orders and staging a protest in front of University Grants Commission have been released on personal bail amounting to one hundred thousand rupees each.
The students were released on bail when they were produced before Colombo fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage this morning.
Police also informed the Court that another four students are to be produced before the Court.
The lawyer appeared for the students told the Court that police have assaulted the students, and four of them are still receiving treatment at Colombo National Hospital.
Attorney at law Thejitha Koralage who appeared for students said that the Magistrate warned police about the use of minimum power to disperse students.
