The Railway Control Room says that commuters at the Alawwa Railway station have pelted stones at a train engine over the delay of the office train that runs from Mahawa to Colombo Fort at 4.50 a.m.

Reports say that commuters had tried to hit the train driver as well.

The Railway Control Room said further that after the Railway Control Room informed the Alawwa police about this, the police have by now come to the Alawwa railway station.

The Railway Control Room says that due to this there could be a delay in other trains bound to come to Colombo from Polgahawela.
