The UNP’s No-Confidence Motion against the Government was taken for debate in the parliament today.

The UNP recently moved this no-confidence motion in parliament signed by 26 MPs against the Government’s failure to prevent the influx of dangerous drugs including narcotics into the country.

UNP MP Joseph Michael Perera requested the support of all MPs.

In reply, Leader of the House Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva stated that the No Confidence Motion against the government is baseless and unfounded.

Therefore it could be defeated easily.

Meanwhile expressing his views during the debate, JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said UNP brought the no confidence motion against the government in the wrong time
