President meets UN Secretary General and Iranian President today
President Mahinda Rajapaksa, along with other heads of state and heads of delegation currently in China for the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia , arrived at the Welcome Banquet hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping and First Lady Peng Liyuan.
The banquet took place at the Shanghai International Conference Center last night.
Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed President Mahinda Rajapaksa as he arrived at the Welcome Banquet at the Shanghai International Conference Center.
Heads of state and heads of delegation also posed for the group photo during the Welcome Banquet in Shanghai.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to address the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia today.
CICA is a multinational forum comprising 24 members and 13 observer states.
Sri Lanka holds "observer state" status along with Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Qatar, Ukraine and the United States.
President Mahinda Rajapakse is also scheduled to meet U.N. Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon and Iranian President today as well.
This will be 1st CICA summit Sri Lanka will be participating, after it received observer status in May 2013.
