Appeal court decides to fully examine Wilpaththu resettlement.
The Appeal Court decided today to fully examine the Green Movement of Sri Lanka’s petition against the move to illegally settle Muslim citizens in two thousand 388 acres of land adjacent to the Wilpattu jungle.
The petition was taken before Appeal Court judges A.W.A. Saleem and P.W.A.C. Jayatilleke.
Accordingly, the Appeal Court issued summons on the respondents ordering them to appeal before the Court on the 25th of June.
The petition has named Industries and Commerce Minister Rishard BadiUdin, the Environment and Renewable Energy Ministry Secretary, the Conservator General of Forests, the Director General of Archaeology, the Commissioner General of Lands, Director General of Wildlife, the Central Environmental Authority, Divisional Secretaries of Musali, Madu and Mannthai and the Chairman of State Timber Corporation.
