Ministry pays attention to reduce electricity bill

The Ministry of Power and Energy says that there is a possibility of reducing the electricity bill in future.

Secretary to the Ministry M M C Ferdinando stated that the 3rd phase of Norochcholai Power plant will commence in July and accordingly 300 Mega Watts will be added to the national power grid.

Therefore it is expected to minimize the cost incurred for electricity production by reducing the use of diesel for electricity production.

Secretary to the Ministry M M C Ferdinando stated that they expect to pass on this benefit to the consumer and the proposal with this regard will be presented to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
