Rapid development of Dengue virus is due to the severe dry weather-Video
The Epidemiology Unit stated that the reason for the rapid development of Dengue virus is due to the severe dry weather in Ratnapura urban area.
Due to this reason, the water level of reservoirs has receded to an extremely low level and water has been collected in the midst of the reservoirs.
According to the Entomological officers, these areas are turning into breeding grounds for the mosquitoes.
Meanwhile, speaking during an awareness program for the North Western Province government officials, the Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena stated that the Dengue prevention programs should be essentially implemented in all schools at least once a month.
