Most attention to Sri Lankan President at Modi's swearing in ceremony
Several leaders in the SAARC region have confirmed their attendance to the swearing in ceremony of the 15th Prime Minister of India BJP leader Narenda Modi.
Pakistan Premier Nawaz Sharif has also confirmed his attendance this morning.
However, the main focus among the attendees of the ceremony will be upon Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s participation.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa who accepted the invitation of Premier Elect Narendra Modi will attend the ceremony on Monday at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jayaram and politicians such as LTTE sympathizers Waiko and Vijayakanth opposed Sri Lankan President’s participation in the ceremony.
However, the BJP party justifies Narendra Modi’s invitation stating that it will help to build good relations between the neighbors.
Therefore, the Indian media reveals that Narendra Modi’s government will continue to build good relations with Sri Lanka.
And this will be considered as ignoring Tamil Nadu LTTE sympathizers and Chief Minister Jayalalitha Jayaram.
Therefore Jayalalitha’s participation at the ceremony of Narenda Modi is uncertain.
