Malaysian Police have arrested three men suspected to be members of the LTTE in separate raids in Petaling Jaya and Klang, Selangor.
Inspector-General of Police said they were picked up by the Counter Terrorism Division of the police's Special Branch.
He said initial investigation found that the suspects had entered Malaysia illegally in 2004 and made the country as their base to collect data and disseminating propaganda, while trying to revive LTTE activities in the international arena.
All suspects were found to have used the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee's cards to stay in the country and to avoid legal action by the local authorities.
All of them were now detained under the Immigration Department for further action.
