A new National identity discovered in Balangoda.-Video
Archaeological Professor Raj Somadeva says that a new local identity has been discovered through stone sculptures found from the Gallenwala area in the Kirimalugolla forest in Diyawinna, Kalthota, Balangoda.
During an expedition carried out by a team including the professor, 12 such stone sculptures had been found.
The Professor stated that through these sculptures it was revealed that a Buddhist Monastery existed there 2250 years ago.
Professor Raj Somadeva stated that before the arrival of the Indian culture to Sri Lanka, locals here had a separate identity.
