Providing police powers to provinces except the North is an issue; says a senior Minister.

A senior government Minister states that as a result of the shortcomings in the constitution it affects the parliamentary system.

Senior Minister DEW Gunesekara addressing a meeting held in Hatton stated that after 36 years all factions deem that the constitution must be changed.

Minister DEW Gunesekara also stated that a solution must be provided to the National issue.

He also stated that minor issues can be resolved through discussions.

Minister went on to state that providing police powers to provinces except the North is an issue.
