Thunder Showers continue today; Fishermen warned Railway transport return to normal.

The Railway Control Room stated that they have taken measures to bring the train services at Ragama Railway Station back to normal after the service was hindered by the floods.

The Minister of Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera told our news team that they have taken measures to provide immediate relief to the flood victims by now.

The Minister further stated that monetary funds required for relief have also been sent to the District Secretaries.

The meteorology department states that Due to the convergence of wind flow thunder showers will occur in the western ,Sabaragamuwa, and Central  provinces and in Galle and Matara district.

The Director General of the Department Lalith Chandrapala told our news team that in certain areas rainfall amounting to more than 100 millimetres will be expected.

He also advised fishermen to be vigilant when fishing in the rough seas.
