The death toll due to landslides and accidents due to adverse weather has increased up to 21.

Due to adverse weather the National Building Research Organization issued a landslide warning to 6 districts.

Director of the National Building Research Organization R M S Bandara stated that the warning will be in place till 9.30 PM today.

Kaluthara, Galle, Rathnapura, Badula and Nuwara Eliya districts are prone to landslides.

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili stated that 7,589 persons belonging to 1,880 families have been affected.
