Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that 27 thousand 243 persons have been affected due to adverse weather conditions and the number could increase.

Addressing a media briefing in Colombo today, the Minister stated that In addition 23 deaths and 8 injuries have been reported to the Disaster Management Centre.

Minister Amaraweera also stated that measures have been taken to provide immediate relief to the affected people.

27,000 persons affected by adverse weather

Disaster Management Minister Mahinda Amaraweera stated that 27,243 persons have been affected due to the prevailing adverse weather condition.

Speaking during a media briefing held in Colombo today, the Minister stated that this number may increase further.

In addition, the Minister stated that 22 deaths and 8 injuries have been reported to the Disaster Management Centre.
