Update : Inclement weather hits over 44000 persons - 6 districts are still prone to earth slips.-Weather
The number of affected persons due to the adverse weather has increased up to 44,088.
Meanwhile, the Head of Landslide Unit of National Building Research Organization R.M.S. Bandara told our news team that they have extended the landslide warning issued for 6 districts for the next 24 hours due to the adverse weather.
The Meteorology Department said that despite a minor change in current weather pattern, rain would be experienced further.
The maximum rainfall of 189 millimeters was reported from Kukule ganga area during the last 24 hours upto 8.30am today
Norton area received a rainfall of 112 millimeters while Elston area of Ratnapura received 149 millimeters.

Number of persons affected by inclement weather increase to 33 000.
The Disaster Management Centre said that 33 thousand 549 persons belonging to 7592 families had been affected as a result of the prevalent inclement weather.
By last afternoon the reported death toll was 23.
