Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association requests dansal organizers to refrain from giving soft drinks if possible during Poson season.
Association Deputy Secretary C.S. Muthukuda said otherwise to use boiled or chlorinated water without failure in preparing such drinks.
He said that there is a risk of infectious diseases due to the wet weather experiencing in the country these days.
Muthukuda further requested the organizers to register their dansals with the respective local government authorities.
Organizers had registered 4648 dansals during the last Wesak season but PHIs had inspected 7181 dansals.
Public Health Inspectors Association Deputy Secretary further said that PHIs who inspected the dansals suspended four of them and permitted another 148 to continue only after upgrading their hygienic condition.
