According to the Irrigation Department the Kalu, Gin, Nilwala and Kelani rivers have reached spill level due to the prevailing weather condition.

The Director of Water Resources Division of the Irrigation Department Prema Hettiarachchi stated that water levels of these rivers are bound to increase.

Kalu River has reached the main flood level in Kukule Ganga area, while it has shown a minor flood level in Ratnapura.

The department further stated that Gin and Nilwala rivers have been surpassing minor flood levels in Baddegama and Panadugama areas
