The cause for earth slips in Kaluthara district discovered.-Weather
The effect of thunder showers lashed in several areas of the island in the last two days has not disappeared yet.
The inclement weather hit nine districts killing 23 persons and caused severe damage to the Kalutara district as 14 deaths were reported from Kalutara.

According to Disaster Management Center, earth slips were reported from Agalawatta, Mathugama, Bulathsinhala, Walallawita, Kalutra and Ingiriya areas.
17 thousand persons belonging to 4602 families of the Kalutara district were affected due to the disaster situation and over 200 houses were damaged.
Kalutara District Officer of the National Building Research Institute and senior Geologist Prasanna Dharmasena told our news team that the main cause to the disaster during rain is paying no attention to the instruction given by his institute.
