The National Construction Research Organisation has extended the landslide risk status declared yesterday for the Kalutara, Kegalle, Galle, Ratnapura, Badulla and Nuwara Eliya districts as a result of the inclement weather until this afternoon.
Meanwhile Matugama Zone Education Director N. W. Perera said that 32 schools out of the 130 Matugama Education Zone schools in the Kalutara District closed due to inclement weather would remain closed further.
The schools thus remaining closed will be the 32 schools belonging to the Paalinda Nuwara, Agalawatta, Matugama, Walallaavita Educational Divisions.
Eight schools of the Walallaavita Divisional Secretariat Division , five schools of the Matugama Educational Division, and three schools of the Agalawatta Education Zone will be thus closed.
Similarly the Horana Zone Education Director speaking to our news team said that the 135 schools of the zone that had been closed earlier would remain closed today as well.
