The North Provincial Council Chairman C.V.K. Sivagnanam told our news team that his council sent a letter to the JHU in Tamil language under the powers vested in the 16th Amendment.

The JHU stated that the NPC has degraded the official language to send this letter to the party.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday, JHU National Leader and Provincial Councilor Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe said despite a language policy is available, sending a letter in Tamil language is violation of policies.

Speaking to our news team NPC Chairman Sivagnanam said that his action to send a letter in Tamil is constitutional.
