IMF Says No Side Agreements With Sri Lanka

The International Monetary Fund says that there are no side agreements nor secret agreements with Sri Lanka.

IMF spokesperson Gerry Rice expressed these views at a media briefing that was held yesterday in New York.

He expressed these views in reply to a question raised by a journalist regarding a statement made by the Vice Chairman of the UNP Lakshman Kiriella.

In reply Gerry Rice stated that Sri Lanka completed its stand-by arrangement with the IMF in April 2012 and does not currently have a program with the fund.

Rice concluded by saying that tthere are no further side agreements.
