A set of proposals from the health Ministry to eradicate Malnutrition and anaemia.
The Health Ministry has issued a Set of Guidelines to implement the National Nutrition Policy on District level.
Director of the Health Ministry’s Nutrition Coordination Division Community Health Specialist Dr. Shanthi Gunawardena told our news team that there are 17 Ministries under the Nutrition Council and the District Working plan will be coordinated and implemented through these ministries.
The set of Guidelines contains instructions to achieve targets set by National Nutrition Policy by 2016 including the reduction of child and maternal malnutrition, reduction of anemia and providing a safe meal to be implemented successfully on district level.
During the National Nutrition Month inauguration ceremony the Set of Guidelines for the District level working plan was presented to Deputy Health Minister Lalith Dissanayake by Health Ministry’s Nutrition Coordination Division.
