Heavy rains today as well in many areas of the island; Fishermen warned
The meteorology department states that there will be showers or thundershowers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts and heavy falls more than 75 mili meters are also likely at some places.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will be South-westerly and the speed will be 30-40 kilo meters per hour.
The sea areas off the coast extending from Kankesanthurai to Pottuvil via Puttalam and Galle will be rough at times as the winds can be strengthening up to 70 to 80 Kilo meters per hours at times.
Duty Meteorologist Ajith Wijemanna said other sea areas around the island will also be fairly rough at times and advised the Naval and fishing communities to be vigilant.
