President to Bolivia for a 2 day official visit.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to leave for a 2 day official visit to Bolivia to participate at the Group 77 summit.
Bolivia holds the current chair of G 77 and the organization commemorate its 50th anniversary this year.
Food security, poverty reduction and creating sustainable ways to protect the earth are on the agenda of the summit.
The G77, established in 1964, is the largest inter-governmental organization of developing countries within the UN system with a membership of 133.
Sri Lanka is one of the founding members of the G77.
Bolivian President Evo Morales met with top central and local officials to begin coordinating plans to host the G77+China summit in the eastern city of Santa Cruz on June 14th to 15th.
