A youth killed in police shooting at Pasyala.
One motor cyclist was killed in a police shooting on Nittambuwa Pasyala road last night.
Nittambuwa police said the pillion rider who was injured in the shooting was admitted to Wathupitiwala hospital.
The deceased was identified as 23-year old resident of Kithul-wala in Divulapitiya.
Five traffic officers of Nittambuwa Police have ordered the victim and his pillion rider to stop the motor bicycle at the Pasyala fuel station.
The injured youth said as his friend stopped the motor cycle on police orders, and for no reason, police opened fire on his friend.
Our news team contacted Nittambuwa police to comment on the shooting.
A senior officer attached to the Nittambuwa Police station said the five traffic officers are now under police custody.
He also said that a special police team led by an ASP from Gampaha police has been appointed to investigate this incident.
