The government proposal that a UN Human Rights Commission investigation against Sri Lanka should not be held was passed in parliament with 134 majority votes today.

144 MPs voted for and 10 MPs voted against the proposal.

The UNP abstained from voting while the TNA voted against the proposal.

SLMC and JVP MP ‘s members were not present at the chambers.
