The Colombo High Court was told today the blood samples of three suspects including the Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman are matched with those samples collected from the site of the Tangalle resort where British national Khuram Sheik was murdered.

Professor of Colombo University Medical Faculty Indika Nilmini Gunawardana testifying as the last witness of Khuram Sheik murder case told the court the DNA reports of the blood samples obtained from Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Sampath Chandrapushpa Vidana Pathirana, Uduwanage Saman Deshapriya and Weerappulige Praneeth Chathuranga were matched with that of the blood samples collected from the crime site.

27 witnesses including Russian national Victoria Alexzendra who was allegedly gang raped, caretaker of the Tangalle Resort, its manager and Tangalle Magistrate testified before the Colombo High Court in connection with the Khuram Sheik murder case.

Lawyers of fifth and sixth suspects requested court to acquit their clients as no evidence were recorded against them before the court.

However Colombo High Court Judge Rohini Walgama who refused the lawyers request fixed the case to be heard again on 23rd of this month.
