Don't be misled by extremist statements tomorrow; Police urge from Muslim community.
Police urged the Muslim community not to be misled by extremist propaganda disseminated by certain organizations.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that certain rumor mongers are working hard to provoke Muslims tomorrow after Muslims participate in Friday prayers.
IGP N.K. Ilangakoon who addressed the media briefing to inform the Cabinet decisions explained in detail about the damage to life and property during the Beruwala and Aluthgama incidents.
During the meeting, Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that 55 persons have been arrested in connection with the incidents.
Meanwhile Parliament also discussed today about the Beruwala and Aluthgama incidents.
Raising a privilege question UNP MP Palitha Thevarapperuma stated that he was also subjected to an attack during the incident.
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe also expressed his views following MP Thevarapperuma’s speech.
At that point, MP Thevarapperuma removed his shirt and displayed his wounds which he received during the attack.
